"Courage is the most important of all virtues because, without it, no other virtue can be practiced consistently."
— Maya Angelou

Hi, I'm Claire.

I started Courage to Learn because I've come to believe that some of life's greatest lessons don't happen in a classroom—they happen through experience.

Like many people, I haven't learned because everything went according to plan. Much of my growth has come through mistakes, difficult seasons, uncomfortable conversations, and moments when I realized I didn't have all the answers.

For a long time, learning felt frustrating more than meaningful. It often felt like trial and error without direction.

Over time, that perspective began to change.

I began to see that growth isn't random. Even the lessons that come through failure, disappointment, uncertainty, or humility can shape us into wiser, more compassionate people. Our stories—the joyful ones and the difficult ones alike—hold meaning, wisdom, and reminders of what truly matters.

My faith in God has been central to that journey. It has taught me that our struggles and mistakes are never beyond redemption. God can use every season of life—even the difficult ones—to refine us, deepen our faith, and help us become who He created us to be.

That's the heart behind Courage to Learn.

I believe every season of life has a story worth preserving.

Whether it's the wisdom gained over a lifetime, the story behind a marriage, the journey of a meaningful career, or the reflections we discover through everyday life, these stories deserve to be remembered and shared.

Through Courage to Learn, I share thoughtful articles that encourage reflection and create meaningful keepsake experiences that preserve the moments, relationships, values, and life lessons that shape who we are.

Whether you're here to read, reflect, or preserve a meaningful story, I'm grateful you've found your way here.

My hope is that Courage to Learn inspires you to recognize the value of your own story and the stories of those you love—because every season of life has something to teach us, and every story is worth remembering.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."
— James 1:2–4
